Mecer inverter trolley battery charging

Thank you for the update. I am getting used to the fan noise.

But glad it’s not a fault of some sorts.

Can you post a pic of what you did?

Well I stuck a lawnmower engine air filter over the grille, but I think that cuts airflow too much so I don't want to recommend.

It would be better to use a piece of mesh or foam like you get for PCs.

Still I don't think it needs a fan at all < 300 W total (charge rate 25%). When the warranty is out I might retrofit a controller. It's not obnoxiously loud but next to a silent PC it's annoying.

This is a software issue according to Mustek and at some stage will be resolved with a firmware flash. My 2KW Mecer Lithium (SOL-I-BB-M2L ) has an issue in that the silver battery button on the side does nothing at all, does anyone else have this issue?

maybe it is a jump start button, ie if item switches off due to bms low voltage cut-off to get it going again when eskom is back

that is my guess anyway

or does the item auto revive,
anybody run it down all the way already?

Hey Guys. Some assistance please. I have a Koolenergy inverter 1kw. It has been in use since November last year...barely used that is. It is used in the Durban area where until now the area has been fairly buffered from the heavy load shedding that the rest of the country were faced with.
Now that the inverter has to start paying its school fees with Durban returning to the loadshedding fold i notice that the max runtime of the inverter is only around 40 minutes with a load of a TV (55inch), a Decoder and a router. Can this be due to the other issues mentioned on this forum with the battery not charging to full capacity?

I know that if this issue is highlighted with the supplier the first excuse used would be the battery is at the end of its life due to the cycles or any other bullS&%%T excuse.

i cannot see any way to do a hard reset on this unit.

Doesnt the 1kw model come with lithium batteries? That cant be at the end yet.

That does not sound right.

Ignore the % indicator for now. Unplug the unit, press the silver battery button out (so it turns off) and back in again.

Plug it in to fully charge (3-4 hours), then unplug it and run it down till it shuts off by itself. That will be preceded by a low battery alarm.

You can check the kW load on it (press up arrow 3 times) but I am guessing it will read the usual 0.1-0.2 given your description. In which case you should be getting about 8-10 hours.

Even at the max load of 1 kW you should get an hour. Nobody has done 2000+ cycles on these things yet.

This unit unfortunately does not come with the option of menu items. There is no way of identifying the load on the unit display. The load with the devices connected should at worst case be no more than 0.121684832111051.png

That's a different model - pretty sure yours is lead acid.

In which case the battery is finished and you almost certainly don't have a warranty claim unfortunately.

Worth a shot though. And next time, go LiFePO4.

Damn, you got the wrong one :(

VRLA Gel Battery

Sadly, you just gonna have to replace the batteries, thats the only way to fix the situation. I dont know if you could slap in a lithium one, Bigger brains on here would know though

That is an issue with the 1st batch of LFP ones ie:
OIP.NCrPd8ghdVatKMgvmI6lnwHaGo

And it was not that they don't charge fully, its that it had a software issue. The unit worked like normal. Fixed with a reflash.

Your problem sounds like ded batteries.

Mine appears to have resolved on it's own. It's recharging to 100%, and no more 3 beeps.

Weird.
