Itchy Boots (travel series)

I read recently of a South African couple who traversed africa overland from north to south on a similar route Noraly is taking. They said the only place they started to actually feel uncomfortable and a little unsafe was when they reached their own country - South Africa.

Itchy Boots has been mentioned before in one or two other threads, but I recon she deserves her own thread.

Briefly she (Noraly Schoenmaker) is from the Netherlands and travels around the world on a motorbike. Unlike some other celebrity sissies (;)) like Ewan Mcgregor she travels completely alone without a huge crew to support her when something goes wrong. Also all here videos are on YouTube and she currently has 754 000 subscribers.

In the latest series (Season 5) she travels around South Africa and up to Namibia. She flew to SA, picked up a second hand Honda in Sandton and off she went. She edits each episode at night and uploads it to YouTube. She was in Cape Town about 2 weeks ago.

She manages to find places of SA that most locals have never seen.

If you haven't watched her then go for it,

Season 5 Episode 1

Now has 1.7M

First time I am seeing this; looks pretty cool. Going to start watching from S5.

She's missing a golden opportunity. If she were to ask for a patreon/whatever donation, I'm sure a lot of people will chip in and send her some money, and she'll be able to travel around a lot more.
She addressed this once. She doesn't ask because she says she doesn't want to feel beholden to anyone. She has her youtube ad revenue and sales from her store and she says that's enough.
Frankly, she strikes me as a very sensible and wise woman. She makes enough money to do what she does, and when she no longer can, she is, after all, a qualified geologist. She'll have no problem ever earning a living that way.

In Guinea now.... Can't see a vehicle making it on many of those dirt tracks. Interested to see where she heads next.

Yup, She took time out from being rained on in West Africa to attend and speak at the adventure bike riders festival in the UK on the weekend.
