I believe that system was developed by the SADF/Armscor in the 1980's. Called the Plofadder:

The Plofadder system is capable of firing rockets to create a ladder-like demolition zone, which is capable of cutting a 160m-long, 9m-wide lane through a minefield. Another order, worth around €65m, was placed by the customer for ammunition.

These have been around a lot longer than that.

The Bangalore torpedo was devised by Captain R. L. McClintock of the Royal Engineers while attached to the Madras Sappers and Miners unit of the Indian Army at Bangalore, India, in 1912. He invented it as a means of blowing up booby traps and barricades left over from the Second Boer War and the Russo-Japanese War. The Bangalore torpedo could be exploded over a mine without a sapper having to approach closer than about 3 m (10 ft).

Sure, except the Bangalore Torpedo requires troops to approach the minefield and lay it directly on the mines. The plofadder doesn't and is far quicker and easier to use:

Plofadder and a bit about the Bangalore Torpedo:

Which would you prefer?

Yeah that was the first one ever made. Improvements were made throughout the years. You can google the entire history.

Point is, SADF/Armscor did not invent this thing in the 80's. Far from it.

By 1944 the british already had pretty much the same thing as Ploffadder.

A British-made, rocket-deployed, flexible line charge called the "Conger" was developed to overcome the shortcomings of the Snake. The Conger was the first modern mine-clearing line charge. Consisting of 330 yards of specially woven 2-inch diameter flexible hose, it was launched across a minefield by a 5-inch rocket. Modern mine-clearing line charges like the U.S. M58 MICLIC and the British Giant Viper evolved from this device.

There has been a couple of videos in these threats of the Russians using their ones to destroying building and of a suicide IFV packed full of the charges and driven into a Ukranian position. There is however no video of them clearing a mine field with it.

Now, after a year of combat, many of these homespun groups of volunteers are fighting with themselves and undermining the war effort. Some have wasted money or stolen valor. Others have cloaked themselves in charity while also trying to profit off the war, records show.

I'm not sure as to why Queenie even bothers posting comments, it seems most are on his lengthy ignore list.

If some bad apples volunteer, the cause is evil and bad and smelly.... :)
Putin was right. All Americans are not angelic kind hearted innocent saints.

This is entirely logical. I think we've all lost boys. Time to email Jens to give up on Ukraine.

It's obvious, because SA is part of this new world, and we are very strong and powerful country!

And just after my /s comment, I open the news and see that:

The ANC has confirmed several members are on a "working visit to the Russian Federation".

The visit follows concerns about South Africa's stance on whether it intends to act on the warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In a statement on Saturday evening, the ANC said the visit follows an invitation from United Russia Party, Russia's largest political party and a "longstanding ally and friend to the ANC".

"The engagements, which are led by NEC [national executive committee] member and International Relations Subcommittee Deputy Chairperson Obed Bapela, will include discussions on the recalibration of the global order to reverse the consequences of neo-colonialism and the previously prevailing unipolar world," it said.
