Electricity minister reveals his plan for stopping load-shedding

South Africa's Minister of Electricity, Kgosientso Ramokgopa, has outlined his proposals for combatting load-shedding through interventions at Eskom's power stations.

During a media briefing on Thursday, 6 April 2023, Ramokgopa shared some of his observations on his visits to Eskom's eighteen power stations across the country between 20 March and 31 March 2023.

Jeez so this idiot can do simple add and subtract math ? How the **** does that solve the problem ?

Yeah except that Kusile will be end of 2023 not now.

It's so great that we have a cabinet minister whose sole job is to spew out the same old nonsense. Not a word said about privatisation, deregulation or renewables - the only things that are actually going to get us out of this mess. Instead just more waffle about polishing the Eskom turd.

Hehe. Kind allows like the only way our country is going to get fixed is a violent overthrow and assassination of the top leaders.
I don't see any other way recovery is possible.
Let's hope foreign governments don't see this opportunity to take advantage of the weak state of rambaphoesa and his friends.

It wouldn't work though because the same dumb peoplenwould vote majority. So then ultimately we need to have a dictatorship with military camps to perform indoctrination and identify citizen that do not qualify to vote.

So basically 1 stage (1000MW from Kendal), assuming nothing goes wrong?

None of the other seems like "quick wins".

Pffft, do we really need a Minister of Electrik to tell us this.. ?

Andre could have done the same or better given he was also given more money & allowed to ignore environmentals.
And it would have saved us this stooges salary..which would easily cover two mops and a bucket without a handle.

How about you spend no money and let the IPP's connect to the grid.
This will solve the problem in very little time and at no expense to government.

OOPS I forgot GWEZE in involved and its not in his interest .

That is mostly a loan than needs to be paid back, with 30% Spanish procurement. :(

No such thing as a free lunch.

It's ridiculous that a country as wealthy as South Africa is borrowing money when everything we need to solve the electricity crisis is right here. We just need the political will.
