The invasion was the nonsensical option. Russia took that option. They even have a veto vote in the UN. Why not negotiate before arming minority rebel groups and invading a sovereign country?

I'm not a fan of South Africa giving control to China over us for example, but I don't blame them at all for doing what is best for themselves. If all countries did that the world would be a better place tbh.

Any case, It appears that China prefers a weak Russia, so it benefits them to have Russia bogged down in this senseless war for many years.

Quite possible that is China's play here, also quite possible that Russia is effectively helping to overcommit "the west" militarily in case China wants to kick off in Taiwan

They worrying sign is, that if the ANC looses they most likely will try a coup, because just about everyone of their party leaders will get arrested and charge with fraud. They certainly wouldnt want that, and instead will have a coup to seize power. They would need Russia's support to achieve this as the Chinese wont lift a finger, because its not their style.

I can see more and more that we will head to a coup if the ANC looses.
