The only reason our new ones need different quality is because the ANC got outsiders (who have no clue about our local coal quality) to design them because they didn't want the white devil involved.Okay so reading an article shows you're right, Eskom is not using the high-grade coal anyway evcen though it SHOULD have in its new power stations - thats another debate. it still does not mean priority is not being given to these markets though over eskom? How are we constantly at risk of not having coal at powerstations yet we can export tons of it?
Same reason we are not exporting tons of coal* ... our rail infrastructure has been destroyed and they can't get the coal to the places it needs to be - ie. Power Plants and Shipping TerminalsHow are we constantly at risk of not having coal at powerstations yet we can export tons of it?
We are actually exporting loads of our high-grade coal. Check out the truck convoys that never stop. They can't keep up with overseas demand.Same reason we are not exporting tons of coal* ... our rail infrastructure has been destroyed and they can't get the coal to the places it needs to be - ie. * I have nothing to back this up, but just trust me, I'm not a minister of energy
We could be doing exponentially more if the rail was working and not ruin the roads at the same time.We are actually exporting loads of our high-grade coal. Check out the truck convoys that never stop. They can't keep up with overseas demand.
