Xiaomi still has the worst/unreliable smartphones in the market

we get crap android phones officially in SA why cant we get pixels officially on contracts? why MTN, Vodascum?
same reason the rest of the world gets better cars and better electronics than us,

were a 3rd world dumping ground with massive taxes and greedy regulations that only allow overprices apple junk into SA.
for instance fairphone, why cant they sell officially in SA, or Framework laptops, why cant they sell those here.

I am very happy with my Note10 Pro, except it would not sync "well" with my 2015 Foresters hands free. Becasue of that, and I wanted a smaller phone, I bought a Samsung A33, but I still consdier the Note 10 Pro to be a better, faster, phone. And it was under R5k when I bought it.

I said this long ago in the Xiaomi thread and half the forum got their pitchforks out.

See, I told you.

Xiaomi is trash

I have had no hardware issues ever on with Xiaomi devices.
Me too, my daughter too, my other daughter too & my ex wife too..

We have been using Xiaomi without any issues for years.

Xiaomi is decent for what it is, as it is now ..... but as soon as they migrate to their own non-android OS then they will definitely not be for most users

Same here.
We've had 10+ in total over the years.
Currently note 9s, Poco M3, Redmi 9C and either 11 or note 11.
The kids punish theirs though and will easily let the battery die before charging again.

Got 2 note 10 pros and no issues, one even survived falling into the pool

Jip, that is currently the device my wife and I have.

My kid has dropped my phone more times than I can remember and I have also dropped it many times.

I really can't believe my phone has no damage from being dropped so many times.

It reminds me of my old HTC it just keeps going.

Got my new Mi 11 Lite on Friday, replacing my Redmi Note 11. Wife has had her Note 10 Pro for 18 month. No issues with any phone ever

Nice. I have the MI 11 Lite (5g NE). Very light phone and the battery lasts forever. Enjoy !

No issues with any Xiaomi ever. Mi A1, 2x Mi A2, CC9 pro has the best camera I've ever had on a phone.

me too, it's the prices I hate and the fact that my last Samsung I had to import myself and it broke within a year ... costly lesson to learn ... and the thing is still not available here, talking about the A40 and it's newer siblings which are exactly the size and spec of phone I want
Yeah. I think the reason why I don't focus too much on the price is due to the fact that I've always received my phones on contract. As long as the contract is affordable etc...

It's really a very costly way for me to purchase cellphones when I factor in the interest accrued and the lack of airtime value I receive.

i still use a Poco F1 - will probably keep using it till it drops dead - i don't need an android version higher than 10 yet - and it still works for all the apps i use as well as doing the basics ie calls and texts and whatsapp etc so no need to get anything fancier yet and it is still way better than most of those newer budget R2k phones .... so no need to change it at all

No more security updates for Android 10 unless custom ROM with community support.

There is LineageOS support here:
Currently at Android 13.

I have an A33 at the moment, have had it now for a few months and it's nice enough for my use. Has whatever I need, and way more that I don't use. Only thing I miss from my Huawei is the swipe gestures. But not without google that's not happening again.
You get navigation swipe gestures (incl 3 finger downswipe for screenshot) on the A33. Or do you mean the fact that it's slightly different?

I checked it out now, the gestures on the Huawei worked a lot better.
