Renting vs buying a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X on credit

With the rising cost of everything I can understand why people rent. But if you can afford the installments, rather save that up and buy cash. Instant gratification unfortunately over rules common sense.

with today snowflake Generation, just make sure you don't end up in Jail next to Tshepo the rapist.
you know how they take things literally.
snowflake kids should get snowflake Playstations

PS2-+-PS3-=-PS5-meme-4495

guess paying for something over installments costs more in the long run than buying it outright,
somebody should tell the Golf GTI and BMW idiots that, as it seems there are more and more of them out there then ever.

As a BMW driver, I have to stand up and ask why other vehicle brands are exempted?

Average PC game is R700, the average console game R1300.

Yeh its about double the price.

12 month GamePass = R1190*
12 Month PS+ Extra = R1239
(Sales like Black Friday where you can normally get above for cheaper, excluded)

Also if you don't suffer from FOMO you can wait for a tad to also get games on sale
Nintendo on the other hand is a whole different kettle of fish.

*36-month GamPass ultimate = R1800 If you use the Live Gold conversion "trick"

Even cheaper used on Carbonite - still within warranty... why would you want to buy this on credit or on a 'rent to own' basis

No ways dude - yes, the AAA titles cost that much, but not all of them.

Besides, the (PS) games are just simply worth the premium ;)

My 6-year-old only recently discovered what a PlayStation is. I have let him play a few times so far. But I can see the addiction it can become for him. Still a very long time before he gets his own one.

Because someone can afford the monthly amount. Exactly like the vehicle buying thing, they ask, how much per month.

I could see the value in renting a console for 3 months to perhaps play that one or two exclusives. I am mainly a PC gamer and I don't really want to fork out R12K for a PS5 just to play those 2-3 exclusives before jumping back to my PC.

But at those rates it is just not worth it. I would pay R500 per month for a PS5 over a 3 month period, no problem, but R1300 is insane.
You could just wait till it comes to pc
