'Better under Apartheid": The desperate lament of Soweto’s poor and fearful elderly

I think it was @ToxicBunny that had the contractor that messed up his pool area. Also read horror stories of @SAguy that had contractors mess up the renovations at their house...it most definitely isn't just with public servants.

Just barely good enough seems to be the work ethic of late across the board!
Could have warned me that you're going to dig up buried emotional trauma

Eventually people on this for godforsaken planet by now, will realise that you cannot be politically ideologiested out of failed continents/states/ideologies, and that certain things needs to be done correctly the 1st time using resources irrespective of Continent, Country, Race, Political Ideology practised etc.....If you ignore the basic rules no political ideology can ever save you no matter how hyped up or strong and convincing the motivation sounds.

Likewise saying things were better under Apartheid is more in regards to things working instead of having to address everyone as baas and being forced to live in a different neighbourhood.
Interesting....

In previous instances of exactly the same comments and lamentations of POC standing in lines at clinics, were commented upon by whitey on this Forum, those whiteys were summarily accused of missing APARTHEID and the racist regime that enforced it.

Why is it now suddenly different?

Just wondering...

Coz we listen, learn and take different perspectives into consideration. It's the whole reason we have discussions.

There is difference between saying Apartheid did things better and that Apartheid never should have ended.

When was the last time these people voted for a party other than the anc? Never, that's when.

P0es Niehaus.... Is this you ?
Those exiles had it tough I tell you. The chattering elites were funded by first world guilt in USD and Euros, enjoyed travel to Europe (and our "friends" Russia etc) having another wife / wives / side chicks and chilluns that side, played at arms deals, drugs car theft and CIT robbery. The rank and file had, at best, very little, were not cared about except to be tortured and murdered Camp Quattro style by their ANC "leaders". What has changed?

No one says that in any of these discussions...but MyCadre immediately infers that.

I am sure there are a lot of wrong things happening that should be done better, but the irony is always when people cannot admit to their own role in the mess they find themselves in.
Like voting for the ANC?

It's usually messy discussions around De Klerk being a traitor, Mandela being a terrorist, people getting what they voted for, people will come crawling back to white people, etc. There have been a LOT of discussions around Apartheid on here(and the ANC using it as a default excuses), I think we've all matured and learnt to understand each other better in regards to our positions.
