It looks like top bosses didn't expect that so many staff could be bought off/ didn't plan for such an event which is seriously bad.

Now why don't we have the same shyt on our news when people escape from government prisons ? Escapes etc

That is one thing if staff gets corrupted. The cover up after the fact is way worse.

I don't disagree with the investigation. It seems to ignore all the other prison breaks etc we have had. its all disgusting

Long history means nothing. Many of these companies have poor controls and afinity to put money and profits above everything. Example of this is the decade long investigation involving G4S in the UK.

What is the profits motive here for the company? Is Bester paying more than the contract they have to manage the jail?

The citizens of souf effrica are the most corruptible in the world. Well, why not? There are no consequences to corruption, as displayed by our most esteemed politicians. Its literally a case of playing the odds with a corrupt payout vs unemployment, this is what ANC governance has shown us. Some high-profile cases get beaten to death on the news, while 99% of the others simply go unpunished.

This is africa.

Yes and the cover up BS is the most damaging thing they can do to their reputation. Rather than be open from the start and throw a few guilty employees under the bus.

Yeah, they are really terrible at this PR thing, I don't even know what they are saying in Parliament because they flatly refuse to admit that Bester escaped, insisting he died in the fire.

This is what allowed Shrien Dewani get away with murder. He paid so little he could claim it was a tourism tip and not a contract amount to kill his wife.
