News is about the duo and how they escaped. Where else in the South African prison system was a corpse smuggled in to enable a prisoner to escape? AFAIK, this is the first case. G4S management make matters worse by literally lying to the public, claiming Bester burnt in the fire whereas there's evidence he's on the run and has been captured in Tanzania.

Lol, prison is going to be quite a wake up call for the lady, from a R40k palatial mansion living the high life to now living in a South African prison. Damn right!

It's simply a symptom. You can buy your way out of anything in souf effrica. Corruption is simply the new norm. We have corruption in every single facet of this place now. I can drive along a road, be stopped by a corrupt traffic officer and have to give colddrink money or go to prison. I can land in a queue at home affairs and have to pay a runner to get ahead in the queue. I have to pay runners to expedite my application for modification to house plans. I have to bribe the gatekeepers to get contracts - private or public. Look at how the "construction mafia" simply steamrolled "law enforcement", and they became "legitimate". Politicians can do whatever they want, their power shields them from prison for any crime. ANY crime.

Name any industry, have a brief look under the hood - I'm talking a 5-second peek - and you will find corruption.

Is this the fault of industry/economy, or the actual citizens? The system is abstract, simply a concept. It's the people who make it corrupt. This country has the most corruptible people in the world, willing to eat their own country piece by piece, as long as they get theirs.

We used to look at Nigeria, point and laugh. Guess what, Nigeria now points at us and laughs.

It's disgusting.

I am still interested in the role her father played in all of this, going to great, criminal lengths to get her daughter out of prison would have been abhorrent but still understandable, going to great, criminal lengths to try and get the lowlife, murderer boyfriend out is something I don't understand.

We'll still have to see if anything real comes of this. There's been a trend lately especially in American politics where they just make someone look stupid in a public hearing where they receive a good scolding and then that is all the punishment required and things just go on.

Yeah, I hate it when they do that, "don't ever make the mistake of interrupting me again"? What rubbish is that? That's not a way to speak, courtesy and respect should be the order of the day, no matter how much you have cornered you enemy.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in asking hard hitting questions with respect instead of being a bully because you are an honourable member.

It is weird but probably money was in involved and he may not have had full understanding what he was getting involved in but in the eyes of the law that’s besides the point until sentencing.
Has it been revealed yet what part he played?

It clearly matters to @Hemi300c, I thought maybe he can give me the names of black DA members appointed to Cyril's cabinet ahead of that cabable white DA member, I was going to take the racial injustice up with the relevant structures.
