Stage 6 is sticking around — but Eskom warns it might get worse

Ted never fails to amuse me; went off on a tangent half way through, avoiding answering Sally's question - and then made bribe allegations around the money from the US.

That guy needs help.

Your just jealous he gets the airtime and armchair experts don’t. What if I tell you, you can have an opposite opinion without putting him down.

Into our 8 month of back to back load shedding and things are no better than they were back in September. If anything, it's getting worse. Eskom/ANC so out of their depth, it's actually quite alarming.
And it is slowly but surely starting to show in the market.
We're in retail food manufacturing and what we are observing is huge raw material input cost increases from the big guys (think 15-40% in the past 6 months), retailers not willing to purchase and hold as much stock, retailers (especially independent) are buckling under the pressure of diesel costs.
Last but not least, general mood is very subdued.

Is he wrong about the 750MW buffer?

Is he wrong about the 750MW buffer?

No, I never said that?

But he went on and on about "bad renewables" when that was not the question asked - and then threw in bribe allegations for good measure and when challenged on that "I saw something on YT" Really, Ted?

Grabbing his limelight with both hands lol.

Firstly, it's you're - secondly, I am no expert nor am I jealous. My point is, he went on and on about how bad renewables are - when that was not the question. Then doubled down on it when Sally tried to steer him back to the actual question.

Haven't seen any data to suggest that they run buffers like that. Unless he has live data the rest of us aren't privy to.
I've also not seen this data, judging by the level of load shedding and the load curtailment + the IPP + the OCGTs + the renewables + the VPS the buffer still seems around 2
I mean the numbers from lastnight
30 746 demand - the 7072 loadshedding and curtailment = 23 675
Supply was = 23 771 + 10 OCGTS (1500 if the diesel, 900 if it was 6 from Port Rex and 4 from the diesel) + 1014 from IPP, so on the low scale it would be 25 685 apply to supply with that, throw in the 1741 renewables and it looks like the buffer is higher then 750

I tried to see where he got that info from; but I am probably looking in the wrong place.

I get it, there are some Ted fans on these forums. But this guy has a track record of being wrong and having his own very strong opinions that don't match reality. This interview does nothing to shift that image.

Nothing he said was credible and making wild allegations that he backs up, based on YT videos.... and he is an "expert"

Alrighty, then.
