South Africa’s ruling party wants to implement a wealth tax to fund a basic income grant. There are many problems with this plan.

IMO if you are in CPT or Joberg, you need to be making 1 million + a year to be comfortably in the middle class

In smaller towns maybe 600K and you can afford a small 2nd hand car and a townhouse and still save R500 a month
