DStv vs sports streaming services in South Africa

One of DStv's most attractive features is arguably SuperSport. Although MultiChoice has dominated the premium sports arena for decades, there was recently uncertainty over whether it would acquire the rights to broadcast the Indian Premier League cricket.

DStv packages that include premium sports also remain expensive, and cost-conscious South African viewers may look to streaming alternatives as they become available.

It's at the point where DSTV is so unaffordable, that it's negatively impacting sports like rugby and cricket.

Young people especially and not signing up for DStv premium. They are spending their limited money elsewhere.

No I don't, I use PeacockTV and Amazon for international rugby.

No, just switch your location to the UK.

The BBC and ITV also have lots of sports, including Rugby, which you can watch for free.

Weird - if I switch my US based account to the UK it picks up that I'm "travelling" and I don't get any of that.

That is strange, the games were definitely available as long as you location was set to the UK.

My Fire TV 4K MAX stick is domiciled in the UK, and free Windscribe VPN works for me for iPlayer ITV, ITVX, ALL4, etc.
