SuperSport won't cover any 2026 Winter Olympics content

I found a useful Reddit post:
"Don't worry, you'll be able to watch it on the Olympic channel on YouTube ! You can just click on the Live section of that YouTube channel, all the upcoming streams are already there, but if you're struggling to find it take a look at the website So You Want To Watch Figure Skating, they have links to all the YouTube streams. They will be available in South Africa."

I have tested this and it works.
Unfortunately this sucks. They have a very limited selection of live events and none of the best sports are available at all like speed skating, luge, skeleton or bobsled. :(

I hate supersport (should be renamed SoccerSport) and canalminus so much.

How embarrassing is this for SA. According to the updated official broadcasters list on the Olympic website, almost all African countries are now using StarTimes instead of Supersport.

South Africa is now one of the only countries without Winter Olympic coverage. Even Botswana is using StarTimes for the Winter Olympics. Even Zimbabwe has Winter Olympics coverage guys lmao. Viva supersport, viva canal+:ROFL:

BBC 2 iPlayer was a bit taxed last night, their long ago found direct streams did much better (and of course don't ask for a TV license).

Presuming that most of the coverage will be on this channel - has the Olympics today from 11 am to midnight our time

Copy one of these as a text file but with a .m3u extension, use with VLC or other video players.
First one DOESN'T need a VPN or DNS controller.

Code:
#EXTM3U

#EXTINF:-1 group-title="All",BBC 2 HD (1080p)
http://193.239.187.97/BBC2/tracks-v1a1/mono.m3u8

Code:
#EXTM3U

#EXTINF:-1,BBC Two HD (adaptive up to 720p) [Geo-blocked]

Do you have a BBC license, Brian?

Do you have a BBC license, Brian?

Why would I need one with their direct m3u links?
Those links are free-for-all (while they work), no rules involved - but you know that...

My use of the iPlayer site itself?
I see my use as "licensed", due to other legit access
Grey area at best though. For instance, how legit is my use without a valid SA TV license :p (But still a far cry from cooperative channel broadcast theft)

Later..

Being outside the UK doesn’t make bypassing BBC restrictions legal; deliberately circumventing the rules is still unlawful.

Also, Did you lie when the iPlayer asked you if you have a licence?

How would you or I know what rules may or may not apply to those direct streams? So that's BS, there's no structure with them, there's not even any issued literature about them - if BBC don't want some or anyone using them, they should just rename them or turn them off, but they don't.

Also, Did you lie when the iPlayer asked you if you have a licence?
Did you read the part about my equivalent(?) legit access here?
