Warning to people buying TVs online with other people's licences

The SABC has warned of potential legal consequences for people buying TVs online using the ID numbers of friends or family members.

South Africa's Broadcasting Act requires any person who owns a television set with built-in signal-receiving equipment to have a TV licence.

This system has collapsed. Genuinely surprised retailers are not ignoring the TV license requirement. Can these clowns even enforce any kind of penalty on a shop selling TV's without licenses?

Need to get rid of the evidence now, looks like my cuz from my mothers fathers side is getting a 85inch

Last time the shop only wanted an ID with a valid license, nothing else. This was Game.

Retailers should have a pair of side cutters, so if you don't want to present your TV Lic, you pay for the TV and cut it off in the shop.

Public warns that all TV license inspectors and white vans will be eaten by the guard dinosaurs. Haven't seen any dinosaurs lately? Well I haven't seen any inspectors.
