Lightweight punching quite a strong punch Honor X9d 5G 12GB+256GB Gold is an interesting little device. Dubbed as the unbreakable smartphone that has an IP69K/68/66 water & dust resistance and high drop resistance, makes it great for outdoor content creators or “clumsy phone owners.”
At first glance, I was impressed by the colour I have at my disposal, with a plastic back that somehow feels like glass. The screen is a 6.79inch AMOLED with a refresh rate of 120Hz and 1200 x 2640 resolution I am finding it easy on the eyes even outdoors. The Honor x9d is packed with quite a big 8,300mAh polymer battery and it supports 66w Super charging, and you easily get from 0% to 80% in under an hour.
For the context creators whose budget is not big, the Honor x9d is your go-to device. Boosting of a 108MP main camera that OIS enabled, a 5MP wide lens, and a 16MP front camera for the selfie lovers. The performance of the camera is crisp and it takes decent pictures is low light scenes. The video capabilities are what captured my attention and in my next review will upload a comparison with one flagship for a comparison. Below are some randoms shot with the Honor x9d without any editing.
The Honor Magic X9d comes running on Magic OS 9.0 and a snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset with a 12GB Ram + 12GB honor ram turbo and 256GB ram. For most users it’s Greek but this is what makes the Honor X9d a joy to use as a daily use phone with no lag and freezing episodes.
Durability is what makes this current device stand out, with an IP69k water and dust resistance and a specialised drop-resistant glass, it survives day to day normal use drops of up-to 2,5m and even high-temperature water dips. I have seen many viral posts of drop tests and all, but I am still gathering the guts to perform any at this stage.
Will do another review of video and photo shots, and maybe the durability tests when I gather the guts. For now, I am enjoying the daily use and saving in Eskom bill as I charge every 2,5 to 3 days.
