All iOCO staff return to the office

"He explained that working from the office has led to productivity benefits, which have helped them perform better."

Maybe what helped you "perform better" is not relying on government kickbacks.

Coming from a company with his history doesn't help much changing your name. Just like he changed his viewpoint.

Ok, listen up people. Due to the fuel shortage we are gonna need you to take your ergonomic chairs and desks back to your houses again.

Management

Back to the office for top South African IT company's employees

iOCO CEO Rhys Summerton said all staff at the company have returned to the office, which has led to productivity benefits.

Between 2020 and 2024, EOH, which rebranded as iOCO in December 2024, was a strong advocate of remote work.

I can believe that productivity went up, I use to work for company in 2020, all staff were full-time in the office, then Covid happened and we got told to WFH and productivity took a knock, I was in a team of 5 People, and after we were home full time, 3 out of those 5 people were always late for meetings, not fulfilling their responsibilities, always had an issue doing standby etc, and it would mostly always fall onto my shoulders, I'd have to pick up the pieces every single time, it got so bad that I ended up leaving the team because it was interfering with my family time (doing their standby), and when I mentioned this to the manager at the time, it got brushed off, when I finally left the team, they were placed on a Performance improvement program, they finally realised I was right all a long....needless to say they ended up leaving shortly after

The problem here is not working from home, it is people not doing their jobs.

Weird places you guys work at. The same rules and expectations exist for us no matter where we work, be it at the office, remote or even on the road.

work from home is/was the biggest BS ever, everyone thought they where on holiday, can just do what they wanted to do.
dont show up to meetings, because they out shopping, or wait queues r long because they watching TV Series/Movies.
work from home isn't for +90% of people employed.

I smell an iOCO manager - opinion rejected.
