FNB and Standard Bank launch new bank branches for smart ID cards in South Africa

FNB and Standard Bank have rolled out new branches for smart ID card applications under the Home Affairs digital partnership programme, taking the total number of branches to support the service to 110.

Standard Bank's website was recently updated to add 19 new branches for walk-in applications, after initially launching at four sites three weeks ago.

And still nothing for the greater Vaal Triangle area. Having it available in the Vaal Mall, it could potentially cater for Vanderbijlpark, Vereeniging, Sasolburg and a bit further afield, towns like Meyerton, Parys and Heilbron.

MyBroadband has asked the bank for clarification, but it has not immediately provided feedback to our query. Its response will be added once received.
Can I ask for clarification on what MyBB asked the bank for clarification on? In the article at the time I read it, a new section is started with the above quote without any lead in to what the misunderstanding is. Or am I missing something?

Also, FNB needs to pull up its socks. It feel very much like they are doing this against their will only because other banks are doing it. Capitec is already trouncing them in serving the needs of the majority of the average South Africans, and their accelerated pace at which they are rolling out Home Affairs services to their branches is leaving FNB in the dust.
