I canceled my internet access from WebAfrica on frogfoot, I canceled and now more than a month later, the new ISP I want to use says they can not do anything. I have to wait for Webafrica to release the line. I have asked like 10 times via the APP and whatapp and every time they say they did release but feels like they did not. Now it feels like there is nothing I can do? Is that really the case, a ISP can basically hold your line and do what they want and stop you from getting service somewhere else?? Or is my new potential ISP also just useless.

Who is your fibre provider? With Vumatel typically you can force a release, and with Openserve just activate the 2nd port on your ONT/CPE.

OP said Frogfoot.

New ISP is Axxess, but they asked ME to escalate to Frogfoot which seems impossible, been calling the FF support line like 20 times but Frogfoot support never answers the call just dies after a few minutes. This is ridiculous? I have 3 tickets open with axxess support and axxess fiberorders. Webafrica can also not provide proof of request for release(after 4 hours on the webafrica app). I provided axxess with the e-mail confirming cancelation in February Plus a screenshot of the Webafrica portal showing its canceled in Feb! I am pulling my hair out. My wife works from home and my daugter is homeschooling I realy need internet!

Been talking to WebAfrica today again. On whatsapp and the Webafrica app at the same time. I have never experience such useless service in my life!

PLEASE NEVER EVER USE WEBAFRICA you wont be able to leave them and there wont be anybody to speak to! Please does anybody know of a way to get a line released if the ISP is too useless to do it.

Apologies if this is getting boring but the only help axxess is giving everyday is a reply from frogfoot. I really want to pay axxess for internet but its like nobody is trying to help or cares. Frogfoot just ignores you, axxess just repeat whatever frogoot is telling them and Webafrica just smiles as I might have to go back to them to get internet. I canceled and have proof that I have cancled on 24 Feb 2026. Todays reply from frogfoot to Axxess:
Good day

''Client has a cancellation date with their ISP - 2026-05-08 – the client still has internet has the ISP has not released the line - Please advise the client to inform their ISP on ER to be done on portal if applicable or must we do a future activation on the cancellation date?

Resubmit the order when ready''

Thank you

Kind Regards ...

WebAfrica did the same thing at my old place when the next tenant moved in. Took them weeks to sort it out. Fighting with WebAfrica, Frogfoot, the whole lot.

They also failed to move me to the new place. I was without Internet for 2 weeks during that Covid work from home disaster. What a mess. That whole experience is why I doubt I'll ever be a WebAfrica customer again.

Reminds of a time when I had a problem with a payment at Nedbank that got stuck in limbo between two accounts. The bank said call the call centre and the call centre referred back to the bank.
Did some digging and figured out the email formats for their staff. Emailed all the directors and top management and within a day got a reply. Got it sorted and two people called afterwards to follow-up and apologise.

so Frogfoot came back to me(3 days later)confirming my line has been released, not sure why axxess said it wasnt or did they just not care to check? Well canceled my application with axxess, thinking of going Cool Ideas or home connect?

Cool Ideas, WebSquad or Afrihost. Haven't been let down by any of these 3
