Elon Musk says Starlink was offered a pretend black owner “bribe” to launch in South Africa

Elon Musk has alleged his satellite Internet company, Starlink, was given the opportunity to "bribe" its way to a telecoms licence in South Africa by "pretending" a black person ran the company's local entity.

In an X post on Sunday, which Musk pinned to the top of his profile, the world's richest man again argued the main reason Starlink could not launch in his birth country was that he was not black.

Most of SpaceX's business is Starlink. Starlink is likely not profitable unless they sign up every possible client on the planet. And they want to IPO SpaceX this year.

If he builds, funds, drives a a successfull business… why should he not get all the money. That is how capitalism works. Why should he give a away a chunk of a business he has built to “empower” an already over-empowered cadre, who does absolutely fittol in contributing besides provide a skin color on a piece of paper?
