Good news for South Africans who subscribe to DStv

MultiChoice has launched numerous initiatives to make its DStv service more attractive, including lower decoder prices, split billing, and better streaming content.

DStv is South Africa’s dominant pay-TV service, offering subscribers a mix of live sport, movies, TV series, news, documentaries, and kids programmes.

I’d be more interested in a sportless package.

There are plenty of cheaper packages without the half decent sports included. But hey, who watches linear tv these days?

I would. Is there a package that has everything excluding the "decent" sports? There are too many for me to keep track of.

Why, get netflix
I don't watch televised sports and I already have Netflix.

I think the most realistic eventuality is that sports becomes an add-on to a (mandatory) basic package.

DSTV have purchased numerous months of mybb positive spin articles.

Going to take a lot to get the people who walked away to even look back let alone try it out again. That ship has sailed.

Nope.

Too much loss if going for the next package down (Compact Ploos),
would be missing M-Net, M-Net Movies 1 & 2 (available for a few rands extra) , Discovery Channel, BBC Earth & Bloomberg TV

Meanwhile there is a far more intelligent article on a competing tech news site explaining why SuperSport should be unbundled from DSTV and why DSTV should offer cheaper packages without the sports channels.
