Cyril Ramaphosa responds to Elon Musk

President Cyril Ramaphosa says Elon Musk is being dishonest by claiming that South Africa’s Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) laws are racist.

“When it comes to the social media brouhaha from Elon Musk, I pay very little attention to that because I know our laws are not racist,” Ramaphosa said.

Then remove the RACIAL element from the laws and replace it with a LSM-model you utter pillock!

These politicans...the only thing more moronic than they are, are those that vote for them!!

The decent word to use is gaslighting Mr Ramaphosa! Kindly refer to the research done by Prof William Gumede from Wits School of Governance, University of the Witwatersrand!! R1 trillion is involved only benefitting about 100 people with connections with the ANC party. South Africa’s entire GDP (the value of all goods and services produced in a year) is just a few trillion rand, so R1 trillion represents a huge slice of the national economy.

If a very specific demographic is truly equal, why do they require never ending "restitution"?

And we shouldn't forget - this very specific demographic is as indigenous to South Africa as Europeans are. Some would use the argument that they didn't colonise everything. If I belonged to this group that statement should be offensive. Those that use that argument is saying this group can only destroy, not build. Even if many perceive this as true.

Black empowerment policies post 94 was necessary, imo.

The problem is that over time it has produced consequences that became a huge hindrance to economic growth, economic efficiency and job creation. It should have ended at least 10 years ago.

As with any policy, unless constantly re-evaluated and tweaked to produce optimum outcomes,it evolves into something that adversely affects everyone.

That's where we are now.
