Petrol price headed for R30 in May

That was during Apartheid, so every whitey got a bag of cash from the treasury every month, so we never worried :p
of course that isnt true, but during the oil crisis years, people planned ahead, people drove less/slower
and I'm sure many learned to ride dirt bikes as that's the most efficient way of moving 1 or 2 people somewhere quickly.

Ouch. May.

I saw this on Facebook and wondering about the accuracy of the statement. They have the fuel levy as 0.93c instead of 93cents. Should the price for diesel then be 92c less than the R6.19?1777981236667.png

what did all y'all do during the fuel crisis years back in the 80's, ride bikes?
It was the 70s, not the 80s and national speed limits were reduced to 80 on the highways, fuel was rationed, you couldn't fuel up on weekends, you couldn't fill jerry cans (though people still did).

Brent Crude Oil price steadily increasing again, hitting $108.

The June 2026 prediction
Current projections suggest a total increase of R1.80 to R2.20 per litre for Petrol, and potentially R2.50 to R3.00 per litre for diesel.

While the Basic Fuel Price (BFP) is seeing some relief as oil markets stabilise from their April peak, the primary driver for June is the National Treasury's decision to halve the fuel levy relief.

Hmm, wonder which data that guy is using. Based on the 11 May data, even with the levy coming back, we should still see a drop in Diesel Prices.
