Geely undercuts BYD with new cheapest electric car in SA

My cousin picked up her brand spanking new E2 Apex (R390k) yesterday. First impressions is strong, some excellent space utilization (back seat in particular), upmarket interior for a wallet friendly car.

I just collected mine today. So exciting! Does anyone know when (and if) wireless apple auto will work and when (and if) there will ever be a remote app launched anytime soon?

They sure have come a long way since selling these.

I ordered one. It's quite a good car for a run around.

We test drove a Geely E2 and the Byd Dolphin Surf on Saturday, as my wife needs a run-around, and with our situation, EV actually makes sense as a 2nd car. The Surf feels a bit underpowered compared to the E2 (50kW vs 85kW), but the build of the Surf feels slightly better. The E2 has way more space though. My wife is leaning towards the Geely.

Does the surf have an outside temp display?

TBH, didn't check for that. What I can tell you as that the AC sucks. The car we test drove was standing outside in the sun, so was a bit warm. It took forever for it to start cooling down.

We sat in a normal Dolphin, but it was a customer vehicle, so couldn't take it for a test drive. Looks and feels nice, but for some reason my wife doesn't like it. It is R200k more than the Geely E2, so that might be a factor.

Yeah, I heard it doesnt have temp readings only arbitary numbers, so like put aircon on number 10. I think all chinese cars aircons suck though. My friends normal petrol chinese suv needs aircon on "low" or else it also sucks, and even then its weak.

You should see videos of BYD Atto 3 windscreen fogging up after a rapid charging session.

Do these entry level electric cars have a heat pump for interior heating in winter?
