etv and many of the radio stations are examples of how this can be done.
and you think that they make lots of their own content like the SABC does etc and if anyone else uses a similar model its going to be anything other than 50% content 50% adverts ..... radio stations are not even in the same strotosphere in terms of operating costs and content purchases
also as an experiment ask your maid, gardner or driver or anyone who watches SABC if they prefer watching SABC or ETV currently might just give you some perspective IMHO
