It doesn't have to bring down temps (even though this thing runs hot) but it must not make it worse. Ultimately I just want to keep dust out. This place is super dusty. Just a discussion.

It gets the vents off of the surface you are working on (out of the worst of the dust) and allows for unimpeded ventilation. It also puts the screen at a better height. You will need to use an external keyboard however.

I use this one that is much sturdier and supper compact for portability. But is is free flow for dust.

I've been looking got something similar locally! Just need check that laptop doesn't overheat as CPU already resches 100-105C under max performance.
