3d Printers South Africa

Nice overprinting flex. What was your material / part thickness above the magnet? Looks like it's barely even 0.5.
On the first one the hole was too deep and it was printing/bridging mid air. On the second one I needed to increase hole depth and I was to lazy to fix thickness above the magnets. It's only 2 layers above the magnets in the middle so .4, the ones on the ends has 3 layers. It still works just fine. I'll probably fix it sometime. I really need some calipers.

UH OH!

BambuLab printers are catching fire and melting due to a hardware issue. The fault lies in the NTC thermistor.

Many users on Reddit have reported this issue, and now GamersNexus is offering to buy one so he can do an analysis.

1. It's specifically the Bambu Lab A1 model.

2. The NTC thermistor in question sits on the AC power board, where it limits inrush current. It is not the hotend or nozzle thermistor.

Pls don't melt the nozzle pls don't melt the nozzle.

Is someone willing to print this base for me and let me know of costs. I would like to have it slightyly modified so I can add some magnets.

Let me know where you would like the magnets (and their size)? Have a dark grey filament currently loaded, a bit darker than in the printables photos (SA Filament SBS Dark Grey). I don't have magnets, but the print will be mahala - can give it a go.

Thank you! I do not mind paying though. :) Think for the magnet holes maybe 10mm diameter and 5mm deep. Could probably add a 0.5 tolerance? Thinking of using something like this:

Just a word of caution on those N38 magnets - I use the 6x3 mm for my projects and they MAGNET like crazy! 4 times 10x5 mm magnets might be overkill for keeping a mouse in place.

Thank you @RedViking - that looks doable. Looks like the mouse has a nice metal baseplate, so the magnet positioning should work. Will see what I can do after work tonight / tomorrow morning - will keep you in the loop via PM.

Much appreciated. It is the least steep one I am interested in. THink It is this one :

I use magnets in my prints all the time. I wouldn't bother with too much extra clearance. For the diameter, keep the holes the same size as the magnet, and for the depth, add 0.1mm.

In my experience you then get a tight press fit, no glue needed.

And if they do struggle to go in use a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the filament slightly before pressing it in. But be careful Pla softens very fast and you might damage the part.

Looks quite cool, and finally affordable.

Met a dude this week who runs a farm of 8 Cobra X machines.
He does some awesome work.

So, curiosity ........... ordered a Cobra X to try out.
At the price, for a 4 color bed slinger, cheaper than a used A1.

Lets see what happens.

Open to advise, comments from Anycubic owners on the forum.

Reading about magnets in prints on here .....

Anyone tried the NFC stickers in their prints?

Its a big thing for keys and stuff. I am thinking of adding them to my prints as a business card.
The customer buys his item and gets my info embedded in every print.

I bought some nfc stickers form Temu. I was thinking of embedding them onto custom name tags. Not all phones support NFC though.

I've started using the round 20mm NFC stickers off temu - put them into printed tags so they're completely sealed.

Using them in various places, one at the entrance to our property to full arm / disarm the alarm. One next to the bed to sleep arm / disarm the alarm. One in my garage which turns on and off the various gym lights. One in the office to turn on the office lamp (switch is under the desk)

I was also considering this... I had an idea for tracking how much water I drink per day by having a crate of little water glasses that have an NFC sticker inside that I place onto a platform with a read... loooool
