It's a no brainer unless you're a SASSA beneficiary or unemployed
So what you're saying is, I need to find a SASSA beneficiary and pay them to stand there for me?

go with a pensioner. you get pushed right to the front of the queue

Last time I stood in a few queues for Passport/ Smart ID and DL was crazy, so inefficient, so broken so slow

paying is out of desperation when you simply dont have the time to fsxk around when they say 6-8 weeks, wen they actually mean 6 months baba, if the system isnt offline.

say they will SMS you that never comes, or send you a registered letter that good luck if it arrives.

if I have learned anything its that people will build entire businesses out of this inefficiency and corruption.
Same when drivers was ready to collect - no coms I only new because I checked on enatis.

good luck if you can find a slot, or is the system is even working,
not to mention all the Que 4 you services simply take up all the slots.

I wrote texts about my DoA experiences, but once you have a booking the process is bliss. I got an appointment in Grabouw, and it took all about 15 minutes. I had another appointment at Somerset West and it took less than 30 minutes.

The rule is simple: make an appointment. I can't get one at FNB in Cape Town at all. For going straight to DoA, having an appointment is not an issue.

I made a booking to get my kid's ID. Two weeks.

not sure then, maybe for me not being born in SA is the problem, waited easily 4 weeks to get a slot, visited 3 times due to the office not having internet, and only after they verified my citizenship did I get a smart ID, all in about 3 months

DL was worse, waited easily 2 months for that.

so many issues with Officialdom, and its so inefficient no wonder everybody tried to get somebody to queue for them.

Yeah, I won't know, but anyone could have gotten the same slot as my kid did. They also updated the booking website,

It is not BABS anymore. It is now myHAO.

EDIT: I see it is still BABS though, but now you have to go through a portal to get through another portal.

Did my ID car and Drivers license this year and was in and out in 15 min both times. The service has gotten better from the last time I was there.
