South Africans call for Dis-Chem boycott after shareholder attacks Redi Tlhabi

You know its AI fake
now, if you go back to my post, you will notice it was only after my post that the prospect of it being fake was raised.
unfortunately, i dont enjoy the luxury of time travel to go ahead of current time.

nor do i have a crystal ball.
i've been deprived of magical tea leaves.
and my name is not gypsy-rose.

Lol nice. This is the conversations we need to have to open up the old festering wounds.

All the pearl clutching 50 year old white dudes are an embarrassment.

He is allowed his opinion, and the rest of the world are allowed to call him out for it.
Radical thought: Stop giving platform to either side?

Then magically people will realise it's just them kak talking at the clouds by themselves alone.

But we made it into currency and business model and then no one should be surprised/crying at it right?

Shut up ******. Where's your dompas? - - is not opinion, not even by the very furtherest stretch of the most fertile of imaginations.

MAGA emboldened these people to such an extent that they don't see this as a problem. I'm sure the US will see their true nature within the next year or two.

He "said" some nasty things so he needs to be castrated ? I don't get it.
I don't have a position to be honest.
However, I am a believer in actions having consequences, but it should be equal across the board.
However, often "hate speech" furore seems to be very skewed to when certain demographics of people say things and I don't like that at all.

DIS-CHEM DISTANCES ITSELF FROM SHAREHOLDERS’ ANTI-PALESTINE RANT

Dis-Chem responded in a tweet: “We unequivocally distance ourselves from the comments and sentiments that have been expressed. These views are not endorsed by Dis-Chem and do not reflect the position of the board or management. We are a proudly South African, apolitical and non-partisan company with the primary focus of improving access to affordable healthcare and delivering better health outcomes for all South Africans”.

It added: “We are, and will remain committed to respectful engagement, sound governance and constructive relationships with all our stakeholders, especially our customers and partners”.

Mark and his brother, Dan, inherited almost R7 billion in shares from their parents, Lynette and Ivan Saltzman, in 2025. Several months later, the siblings, who had emigrated from South Africa, sold more than R600 million in shares

The brothers now hold shareholding positions in the company.

We do not condone misogynistic or derogatory language directed at any person. The language used in the exchange by Mark Saltzman does not reflect the values of Dis-Chem, our board or management team. While Mark Saltzman is a Dis-Chem shareholder, it is important to note that he is not a board member nor an employee of Dis-Chem and has no authority to represent us in any way. We reiterate that we unequivocally reject and distance ourselves from the comments and sentiments. It’s also important to state that the Dis-Chem Foundation has always conducted its work with the utmost integrity and with strong financial and operational guardrails in place. We have no record of any payment being made to Ms Tlhabi in her personal capacity by either the company or the Dis-Chem Foundation. Any inference otherwise is false. While individual shareholders may express personal views independently of the company, Dis-Chem remains committed to respectful engagement, accountability and constructive public discourse. Our focus continues to be on improving access to affordable healthcare and serving all South Africans with integrity and care.

He makes a good point though, I don't see these people on social media taking up the plight of people suffering in Sudan, Congo, Myanmar, Haiti, etc. It's all very one sided.
