Why are politicians getting involved in private affairs? We all know the answer, but nobody is even questioning it...

Solly Malatsi said his department planned to engage with

I also have dozens of plans. Like Solly, the majority will never happen.

Wonder why didn't he engage with them... The real reason.... Something fishy???

Engage all they want.

Canal ploes still seeing the fruit flies from the bad lemon they purchased.

why is the government getting involved in the affairs of a private company? This is not a communist country. Oh wait.

Since last week I get on average 3 calls a day from MC. Ugh. They are desperate to get clients.

In recent months, various Members of Parliament criticised the company over the decision, citing concerns over its impact on jobs in the local film production industry
Politicians can't wrap their head around the concept of reducing expenses to match income so you don't go bankrupt. They are so conditioned to the concept of tax payers bailing out failing entities that they can't fathom why a private company would need to cut costs.

These communists don't seem to understand that this is what private companies do when there are no tax payer funded bailouts, they restructure and cull the dead weight so as to give the rest of the company a chance of surviving. This is not an SOE!

When they weren't stealing, drinking or doing photo ops, they were watching their 'stories' on Showmax?

No company can be forced to run a loss-making venture, if the government is so bitter and twisted it can finance the endless pit themselves.
