A man was shot and killed at a café in Marine Circle, Table View, on Monday afternoon, May 25, in what police believe may have been a targeted attack.

According to Western Cape police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk, Table View police were called to the scene at around 2pm following reports of a shooting.

“Upon arrival at the scene, members found the body of a 33-year-old male with several gunshot wounds lying on his stomach,” said Van Wyk.

He said the victim was declared dead on the scene by medical personnel.

Van Wyk confirmed that the circumstances surrounding the shooting are currently under investigation and that the motive for the attack has not yet been established.

I'd bet good money on this being a gang hit

nothing says "time to move" like being within earshot of a gang hit like this

Apparently the guy that died was a drug dealer, according to what a community group in the area has to say, could be hearsay though.

another group claims "lawyer"

whatever he was, I'd bet he was involved with the Nigerian mob, they don't take kindly to lawyers who don't get the exact results they want, they don't take kindly to accountants who don't cook the books just right and if he was an actual drug dealer, well they don't take kindly to many things that can go wrong in that arena either

Netwerk24 says he was a regular at NewsCafe, and apparently an electrician. Sitting with a young lady with a coffee and laptop open waiting for his food, lady left restaurant, 2 guys came up stairs, shot him numerous times, they left, another guy came up to shoot some more. Shot about 20 times.

Speculation afterwards was drug dealer providing Cape Flats Gangs with drugs, love triangle.

Table View slowly being integrated into "little Nigeria" (Parklands) Any same person still living their should sell up and move. Always amazes me how certain people infest an area and slowly infect is like a goddam virus. This is not the first time this has happened in the area.

Remember going to see some clients in the labyrinth of Parklands. Awful

This thread has been cleaned up, earlier references to demographics and well known facts about the area and activities have been removed.

Your post will probably disappear as well.

And then the area still has to deal with the unbelievably high rate of vagrancy and with everything that brings.

Police have appealed to anyone with information about the incident to contact investigating officer Detective Captain Jood Tieties.

I can tell that the detective has had a hard life

The creep is real, especially in new areas like Sandown. This Nigerian population in the area is exploding.

whatsapp video being shared of the security camera that got the whole incident recorded:
- whichever news outlets claim the guy was sitting "with another woman" is clearly talking complete BS, no such woman on camera
- good grief these "hitmen" must be the lowest grade available working for the lowest fee possible, 6 plus shots and the victim was still moving, seemed a-ok, that's perhaps why they had to come back to finish him off: they cannot aim AT ALL, point blank range and it took that many shots?!? gangsters need to stop watching action films for target practise and head to a shooting range FFS!!!
