3d Printers South Africa

I've started using the round 20mm NFC stickers off temu - put them into printed tags so they're completely sealed.

Using them in various places, one at the entrance to our property to full arm / disarm the alarm. One next to the bed to sleep arm / disarm the alarm. One in my garage which turns on and off the various gym lights. One in the office to turn on the office lamp (switch is under the desk)
What are you using to program them? Nfc tools?

Met a dude this week who runs a farm of 8 Cobra X machines.
He does some awesome work.

So, curiosity ........... ordered a Cobra X to try out.
At the price, for a 4 color bed slinger, cheaper than a used A1.

Lets see what happens.

Open to advise, comments from Anycubic owners on the forum.

Hard to fathom how a machine like that can be manufactured and shipped for that price and still make a profit for the manufacturer.

And it's free shipping to SA?

I checked the price of the Anycubic Kobra S1 Max Combo and it won't ship to Gauteng apparently. KZN shows shipping at $450... but also note "jy gaan kak" with VAT+DUTIES+other upliftment charges.

I found the Creality K2 PRO + AMS at digikey for like R15k... almost bought it until I calculated the VAT and Duties etc which took it to basically the same price as local suppliers.

Absolutely ....

The only downside I have learned, is that unlike the AMS feed, the different colors may need to be hand fed. Will find out when it arrives.
If this is the case, no way I can pay a whole bunch of them that type of attention.

I need to set the printers up to turn stock as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The forum thread post notifications have been letting me down.
I thought nothing was going on here.

Anyway, it's the same ol' me so you know what's coming....
The Trike is a big b*tch.... it's yet again something you cannot appreciate until you hold a version of it in your hands.

40+ years of living in Africa and none of the large mammals we have come close to being an analogue as to WTF this thing must have been like.

Looks how awesome this view is:
"Barrel chested" doesn't even come close... it just makes you wonder how complex that digestive system could have been.

Also, unless you're a real dino-dork you won't understand how satisfying it is to finally have an accurate set of Triceratops feet where it's actually walking on its toes, instead of some elephantine foot looking k@k.

Is that a lekker tube amplifier?

Its just a cheap tube pre-amp and a class D power amp on the left with a toroidal transformer.
I needed a bluetooth amp for general music playback and went off the rails a bit.

I'm way too dom to do any of that...

What I can say is that I'm not completely illiterate when it comes to having some good quality tunes...
You should absolutely let us n00bs know when you strike some gold....

Is the Creality SPARKX i7 a good beginners model? Does anyone here own one?
Seems like Creality's A1 clone.
Should be fine but i am not familiar.
Most start with an Ender 3 variant.
Others can probably give more info.

I've looked at one at BuildVolume, they seem pretty solid, basically a cheaper A1 clone coming with the new creality CFS, so I would think its a great starter model, can't see any major issues with them.

TPU printing seems problematic on this printer. IMO the A1 is probably a better bet for parts availability and ecosystem. BTW there are some new printers from Both Creality and Bambu launching withing a couple of days.

Perhaps check some reviews
