Kraaifontein learners riot, demand foreign nationals leave schools

I've been working for an overseas company since 2009 and leave/enter the country at least 4 or 5 times a year. I'm trying to remember when I was told that my ID book was not proof anymore and I need the orignal PR doc or a certified copy. Seeing that time seems to have flown since COVID times and that was nearly 6 years ago, I guess it must be since about 2016 or 17 when they pulled me up frst time. Now I get 10 photocopies at a time and every 3 months I grab one and go to SAPS to get it stamped.

I don't even take the book out of my pocket these days. Earlier this year I used the same photocopy of the PR doc twice as travel was within 3 months, and when I returned from the second trip with a couple of days to spare, the customs officer straight up told me I need a new copy next time as it's nearly 3 months since the date.

Imagine if they'd only been that anal in the first place about not selling the books round the back of Home Affairs for a 2 litre Coke and a family bag of Nik-Naks.

Foreigners are very wily. Some of them master zulu/sotho/xhosa language and blend in. All these foxes should be thrown out really.

Native speakers of those languages will pick up on accents.

The other thing with language in South Africa is how multiple languages are used when talking. Listen to group of people speaking Zulu/Xhosa and you will hear random English and Afrikaans words or phrases being thrown in. ''Code switching'' is very much a thing.

True but some of my colleagues say they speak "tsotsi taal" when in Jozi.
:)

Hasnt ID book always been useless at customs?
No, it was useful till 2018 or so. After that, they started insisting on PR certificate originals and don't look at ID at all. Apparently, getting green ID book is as easy as buying a pie from a pie shop but PR certificate forgery is extremely difficult.

Why expensive?

Mainly because I'd use a specialist comapany as where I live has no HA and I'm not up for the time it would take to commit to the travel to Cape Town and queuing for days on end. I did it to get the PR 20 years ago and I'm never dealing with them again unless it's life or death.

So first you need to verify your PR is valid, a company I spoke to a couple of months ago charge R8,8295 ex VAT for this, HA themselves charge R1,650. And then it's R19,600 ex VAT for the naturalisation process and that's not including the passport application. Then i stopped reading the email.

All in all, this is up to a two year process and I just can't face it tbh.

No. I've looked into citizenship but it's a long and expensive route and I don't have the time or energy for it. Maybe one day.
SA citizenship ? Long route for sure but not expensive at all. You probably heard of R120K fees charged by dodgy agents. Such agents are almost out of work after Schreiber came in. He has been phenomenal.

See above. I just don't have the stomach for it. If Her*anus had a HA I might give it a go.

Totally.

There is no good reason for these marches to just spontaneously start happening.

People don't just get riled up for nothing. We will know who the turd force is once we identify who the turd force was behind the apartheid uprisings

We've yet to find out who was behind June 16

I'm also starting to wonder exactly how many are in SA legally and how many illegally. Because I'm almost willing to bet that the bulk are not here the right way.
The thing is we do not know. And some of those supposedly not here, get up to all types of stuff that fckup us up in ways most would not understand. Imagine coming for a visit ~10 yrs ago, not leaving, living it up, driving a fancy car, nothing on your name. Then one day you make a misstep on you crime spree and it takes two years to trace you. Then when you are traced, you inadvertently expose your buddies living it up - but are supposedly equally not here yet causing kuk. Rinse and repeat.

It can take months for home affairs to extend your visa even for 30 days.

Milking the system?

The biggest milkers of the system are those on SASSA honestly. Ive known many a bozo that races around in his GTI,
yea, sure !!
no interest to really work, go from this job to that job, and when they get retrenched they spend their entire retrenchment package on new car upgrades etc. And when you ask then why not save for retirement, they said why bother..we have SASSA.

And let this sink in. We have 17 million people in this country of all races that has no interest to work...ever because the benefits are greater if you dont.

1. You get free housing
2. Free water and electricity
3. If you have a child, the birth etc is paid for by the state
4. You will get a child grant for them
5. They will get free schooling
6. Free university
7. Eventually they will get free SASSA

And they didnt have to work for 1 day to cover any of these costs. No the ones that has to pay are those income tax payers, that has to fund all this while getting nothing from 1-7 themself.

And Singapore had this problem. So what did they do? They scrapped social services and forced people to work to survive. And the people did.

But here they dont.
do you view the white afrikaaner christians on this forum that have had to rely on sassa with equal contempt ?
