Government considering new RAF tax because of EVs: Creecy

I saw the funniest thing this past Monday. A lady and primary School son were crossing the road, she just looked straight ahead and started crossing the road, her son stopped at the pavement because he saw a car approaching, the car moved into the other lane so as not to knock down the lady, who proceeded to wait in the middle of the road for her son to catch up to her. She then held his hand and proceeded to cross the road. I felt the child should be holding his mother's hand as he clearly knew how to cross the road safely. Most road accidents with pedestrians are preventable if either the driver or the pedestrian is aware of the other, pedestrians need to take some responsibility for their own safety.
A Constitution like Singapore can fix that.

Transitional levy implies that it will be temporary. The only way that taxes are ever temporary is when it is decided that they are too little, and more of it is needed.

It reminds me of this:
“Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program” – Milton Friedman

Abolish RAF
Make 3rd party insurance compulsory again to operate a vehicle like it used to be before the anc made a feeding trough
If you don't have it then all 3rd party claims fall to the owner

Say you, while a pedestrian, get hit by a township guy with a real POS vehicle, who bought no 3rd party insurance... who exactly is paying for your medical treatment/permanent disability?
