A Big Mac went from R7.00 to R70.90 in South Africa

nothing to see here, inflation is only "3%", move along citizen!!!

PS: 3% compounded over 30 years would still only increase the price by about 3 times, so R21 ... and sure, official inflation was not 3% every year over the past 30, regardless, official inflation is bullshyte!
 
we just don't have any decent burger fast food franchise in the country at all sadly :(

there's the odd outlet here or there, few and far between, but nothing on a national franchise scale that is worth eating (e.g. locally Hudsons and Jerrys are both good, but they are restaurants that also do takeaway, not fast food joints, also they're not widely available)
