Solar generation in rain/cloudy conditions

This autumn has been pretty spotty with clouds

Yeah, I managed to get full at 1pm, or at least the Omnivolt did, the GELs were probably full much earlier.

If we get April weather now with the low sun angle, I am screwed

How much were the panels?
R1500 + VAT each for 555W in February 2025. I'm very happy with the Trina panels.

My 2x 5.5kWh batteries charge at 100A so I generally pull up to 5kWh at midday at peak sun around the time they reach 100% charge.

We've had 80mm of rain in about 24 hours with constant thick cloud cover So,owest solar generation today in 15 months. 2.2kWh in total! I need more batteries...

Oh, it sounded like you just installed them.

Hubble AM2?

Unfortunately. The previous owner had just put one in when I bought the house so I stuck with the same for a 2nd one. So far so good and 10 year warranty is good enough. R13,995 now for a 3rd one.
