Has the South African government still not sorted out the film production incentives yet?
Apparently that is what has annihilated the industry because they were not renewed because the knobheads in charge just haven't bothered to renew them yet even though they say that they will, 3yrs later still nada and so the industry collapses

Uh, I'm not sure I follow the logic here.

The film industry in SA is dying because there is not enough money being pumped into it.

This app helps people in the film industry find jobs.

Jobs which are scarce because no money is being pumped into the industry.

How is the app going to "save the industry jobs"? Making it easier to hire people or get hired isn't going to solve the lack of money problem.

"In 2021, Ramushu’s production company received R4 million in funding from Netflix and the National Film & Video Foundation to produce six films developed in South Africa for the streamer."

Since then she only made 1, so did she steal the rest?

Everybody is building apps nowadays to look out for themselves. Consumers also seem to like every new flashy app, even when it does not really solve anything.

The film industry in South Africa has many deep issues which require policy shifts. Organizations like SAGA (South African Guild of Actors) are working to solve many of the deeper issues. SA's problems require the harder work (policy shifts) which many aren't committing to. Another job search app isn't going to fix anything.

Hey, vote ANC again, or EFF or MK for that matter, that will fix the problem. There is reason foreign producers aren't using South Africa anymore and it has nothing to do with the competence or skill of the local industry or actors.
