Amazon Prime launched for R59 per month in SA

I got refunded the R79, but then charged R59 plus the R399 annual fee. So I paid R458 for the next year. They did not add on a month.
That's interesting. Did you first sign up for the R59/m and then change to the R399? I just checked my credit card and they have indeed charged me the R399. Maybe the free month is only for new accounts?

Game streaming isn't available here.

The copy on the Amazon website is correct, the MyBB article is wrong and misleading.

This page also isn't updated, we should be under the non-cloud gaming service region but instead we're still under the primevideo heading

How long beforehand must you cancel the trial subscription not to incur the next month's cost?

Before it ends.

You can cancel now if you like and you’ll still have all the benefits until it comes time for renewal.

I'm really curious about this. I only have a 1MB/sec connection, would I at least be able to get 720p from Amazon Prime video? Can you pull anything for offline viewing?

Got this from Vodacom

Pssst ... Have you heard the news?

*Your lifetime access to Prime Video is being upgraded to lifetime access to Amazon Prime, at no extra cost!*

This means you'll still enjoy unlimited streaming of movies, series and Amazon Originals, PLUS:
✅ Exclusive shopping deals and early access
✅ Free, fast shipping
✅ Prime Gaming benefits

You don't need to do a thing – your upgrade will happen automatically.
Ts&Cs apply.

But have no idea when my account is gonna be upgraded

Actually wait, I just got another email saying Welcome to Prime. Went to Amazon to see wtf was going on and it says I'm a member and clicking on the plan it shows this...

I'll need to check next month statement if it's still a freebie thought tbf it's R20 cheaper than it was so here's hoping :p

So it's changed from free Video to free full membership.
Yeah mine appears to be a mess up as I’m still prime video but not Amazon prime as a shown since I bought it in the morning

So now getting this fixed is gonna be a pain as you can’t subscribe to the prime anymore with Vodacom got lucky and did it when I got the sms last year

What a shitshow. Hope all the stargate fans have cancelled their subs.

Managing director of Amazon in SA - don't think we're getting streaming on Luna IMG_1272.jpeg

I've noticed on the "todays deals" section on our local Amazon that they are now making many of the deals "Limited Prime Deal". That's rather annoying because they don't have the option to filter that out. They really trying to force you to sign up to Prime now.

Sign up and cancel - they give plenty of notice before the trial runs out.
