Krugersdorp girl killed in hunting tragedy

If it is a wild cow, hunting is allowed as it can't be restrained. If it is a captured and restrained , ritual killing has to happen.
Right... So the normal humane way of killing an animal for butchering wrong, but hunting one or slitting it's throat okay?

Wait so let me get this right? A bullet to the brain or heart is acceptable? But a bolt to the head isn't? How is hunting the cow halaal?
Go to the local casino and watch the Sunday morning rush for the bacon burgers.

Hectic . I think I'm done with this thread for now.

Poor child didn't deserve this and having beef with religion to justify such an accident is a bit low.
Of course the child didn't deserve this. I'm trying to understand how this works? It's not a beef against the religion, though not sure if you meant that as a pun?
It's more of an observation, how is this halaal? I'm trying to figure that part out. The poor child dying is a sad part of it all, I am trying to figure out the hunting portion.

Wild animals are halaal if killed for food.
Must be killed quickly and humanely and you must say your intention before you pull the trigger.

if its a domesticated animal it must be slaughtered.

Thanks for this, now it's clearer

This is going to end up in a derail very very quickly. I would think this should be discussed under the Ethical section. I'll happily participate then. Maybe.

The beef is with the process... they called it hunting but its not hunting, none of it makes any sense - so its not an attack on the religion per se but on these guys just being idiots and not taking precautions.

Makes sense that a ritual slaughter shouldn't involve guns right ?

Yeah I've never heard of going hunting for Eid. Its usually domesticated animals slaughtered on a farm.

Only way I can see this happening is if the car was behind the animal somehow, so hunter did not clear the shot first. Perhaps it was a deflection. Still terrible either way.
The cow was likely in motion and ran past the vehicle when the "hunter" took a shot without checking what was behind the target.

Negligence whichever way you look it.

The poor kid and family.

What an unnecessary and preventable tragedy.

The shooter is also on the young side so likely not his gun and his first time killing a wild cow. So many ways that can go wrong in the chaos.

EDIT: footage linked likely from a different incident. Thank you @Lupus

Nothing to do with hunting.
Was a very angry bull, not a cow.
Likely a handgun, or at least semi-automatic firearm involved trying to stop a rampaging bull that charged out of a truck.
At least three shots fired in a chaotic scenario with many people and vehicles around.
