Taxi marshals prevent commuters from using buses during off-peak hours

If only there was some organisation that could prevent this sort of lawless behaviour. Maybe we could have them wear some sort of uniform to distinguish them from regular people. Blue perhaps? It's very striking.

The incidents of motorists being harassed and threatened by taxi operators for carry passengers is unacceptable and becoming a daily occurrence all over the country. The government is as always silent and useless obviously too busy running their own scams to care. Wonder what they will do when someone uses deadly force to defend themselves from the second largest mafia in the country after the government itself, the taxi industry.

These idiots can't force anyone to do anything, if they can just realize how much power they actually have against this mafia tactics.

When I still lived in Wellington I saw a taxi cut off a bakkie full of construction workers one morning, when the bakkie hooted the taxi driver showed him the middle finger. They dragged the driver through his open window and proceeded to klap him around properly.

That's all these taxi idiots needed, some people to give them a proper PK or 2. They can't pull out guns and shoot 30+ people.

Yeah, but that was construction workers. A bus full of students, domestic workers and office workers on their way to school and work are not going to put up that sort of fight. The bus driver certainly won't. The people just want to get to work while the taxi lot have no problem literally burning the place down, spiting themselves to make everybody else uncomfortable.

Me too, I can admit I've blocked a taxi or 2 or 3 in my past. I don't bother anymore though.
Same.. not worth endangering the life of my family or myself.

Funny thing happened today though... I was on the highway and a taxi was coming past in the emergency lane, I was not blocking in any way but the emergency lane was a bit narrow and the taxi couldn't get past.
I saw his headlights flashing at me but I couldn't move because the traffic was standing still, so as he squeezes past me he reaches out and thumps the top of my car... nothing I can really do about it.
I get off at the next off-ramp and as i'm turning into my road there is a taxi (perhaps the same guy) turning from the straight lane and pushing everyone out the way.
Amazingly there was a road block around the corner and the cops pulled the taxi over, just made my day. Even if it wasn't the same guy, a bunch of taxi's had been driving in the emergency lane and they all got off at the same offramp because the lane was blocked, then they all turned up the same road because it's the main thoroughfare. All those taxi's got caught.
It makes it easier to not fight with them when you know the traffic cops are doing their jobs.
