Amazon explains Prime memberships from U.S. do not translate to South Africa

We're also missing a lot of shows that are on the US Amazon Prime video library, but not included in the SA subscription.

That's due to regional licensing rights.. If whoever owns the rights to whichever shows for whichever regions don't want to license it or its too expensive to make financial sense, we just won't get it..

Same for any of the other streaming services.. we don't even get things like Discovery, Hulu or Paramount streaming services at all, simply because of regional licensing rights..
 
Takealot wins when looking at the range of products available.

This Amazon offering made me actually look at TakealotMore Premium options, exploring if it will be worth it for me. It might.
 
I find that Amazon's prices are quite often outrageously high , comparing the exact same item with Takealot. And the prices don't make sense, random numbers (eg not R199 but R1137). I'm not sure why that is. It's as if they are looking up the price in dollars, adding a delivery fee from USA, and then converting it into Rands.
