Amazon Prime Video is substantially cheaper than competing international streamers

I signed up and on the trial 30 days right now.

I was surprised at the amount of stuff on the service. Cancelled Netflix.
Best R59.00 a month anyone with internet can spend imo.
 
I really just signed up for the free deliveries but Prime Video is a welcome surprise. The selection of what's available to watch is pretty good and, unlike US Prime video, there are no ads.

Amazon's content library is garbage and the stream quality even worse.

To be fair, most of the stuff available in ZA, without going the VPN route, is garbage - but the stream quality matters.

I've had Prime for years now. There's new stuff coming out, not at the sheer magnitude that Netflix is pushing them out, but good enough for my needs. I like a lot of their movies and series.

The platform is chock full of nonsense like "new arrival" releases from the 70's, a bunch of Asian content and some terrible straight-to-TV productions.... including some truly cringe-worthy Bruce-Willis-in-the-throws-of-dementia movies that are in such poor taste they'd struggle to meet the high bar of soya mince.

UI must be missing something really obvious because the number of novel series or movies I've found on the platform number in the.... 5's

UI is kak but I would say the streaming picture quality is better than Netflix but still below Apple. Netflex feels like everything is filmed through a lens coloured in with brown crayon
 
I was going to get it until they killed Stargate even though they green lit it and was supposed to start filming the series this year. Very sad for a solid sifi series to be potentially destroyed by the execs at Amazon... #savethegate

My experience is the exact opposite :ROFL:

The video and especially sound quality on Prime is horrendous. Met someone a while back who actually worked on local repo infrastructure for Prime but it was scrubbed. Maybe local source would improve matters.

Maaaaaaybe.
 
Netflix is newer but Prime is a great replacement for Showmax

Have to say Clarkson’s farm has been my favourite so far. Who thought farming can get so entertaining. Damn the Brits and their rules.
