R10 to watch all 2026 FIFA World Cup matches live in South Africa

Local football fans have several streaming and broadcasting options to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off with the first match between South Africa and Mexico tonight.

The latest edition of the tournament is unique in several regards. Firstly, matches are being hosted across three countries — Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

DStv is broadcasting and streaming all 104 matches live on its SuperSport channels on all packages from Access upwards.

According to Ferreira, the R99 Access package is aimed at attracting former subscribers back to DStv’s ecosystem, adding that the broadcaster is not worried about how much money it will make from the deal.

“They want to try and get those 2.8 million DStv subscribers rehabituated to come back into their ecosystem and actually pay for a monthly subscription,” he said.
However, it remains to be seen whether the offering will be a significant drawing card, as another company is offering an even cheaper option for watching all the matches.
SportyTV plans to show all matches on its mobile and TV streaming apps, priced at just R10 for a once-off tournament pass.

It has also committed to live-streaming matches on its SportyTV Africa YouTube channel, requiring viewers to pay a minimum of R14.99 per month for a channel membership.

Bit of a strange gamble by Multichoice; not only have they got little chance of getting people to fork out the balance of the R99 minimum they want, they've now added SportyTV+ to their offering so know all too well what the competition is doing.

The wise move would have surely been to put it on EasyView as well for just R30 p/m, would still regain their customers that way - instead they have recently hidden the EasyView option from plain sight :whistling::coffee:

If your goal is to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the highest available quality (4K/UHD), these are currently the best streaming options:
Service4K CoverageNotes
FOX One✅ All 104 matches advertised in 4KBest English-language option in the U.S.
Fubo✅ Selected 4K FOX feedsRequires a plan that includes FOX 4K channels.
YouTube TV✅ With 4K Plus add-onCarries FOX's 4K World Cup coverage.
Tubi⚠️ LimitedFree 4K streaming of the opening ceremonies and two matches only.
Peacock⚠️ Spanish coverage onlyStreams all matches in Spanish and adds Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos support.

Best Overall Choice

For English commentary, FOX One appears to be the strongest option. FOX Sports has announced that every World Cup match will stream live and on-demand in 4K through FOX One.

Best Picture Quality

For viewers with a premium home-theater setup, Peacock's Spanish-language coverage may actually offer the most advanced video and audio experience because NBCUniversal is using Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos for the tournament.

Important Reality Check

Many industry reports indicate that much of the "4K" coverage may be derived from high-quality 1080p HDR feeds that are upscaled to 4K rather than native 4K production. It should still look significantly better than standard HD broadcasts.

Id rather not do fox 4k and have to listen to braindead murican commentators.

Dstv it is, i guess

Let's hope Canal+ management are better with their DStv bandwidth planning,

I have zero intention of watching anything hosted by a bunch of nazis

Anyone watching should hang your head in shame!
Stop pretending the world isn't run by Teletubbies , we all know it is, its time we accept this fact and bow to our overlords.

This signals a death knell for native 4K sport. If the FIFA WC is not worth it, not much is.
