MTN South Africa plans to cut costs by between R4 billion and R6 billion over the next three years

Stop stealing clients money, act ethically and things will change for the better.

Why not just have another increase? Isn’t this the way they usually increase profits?

Cut costs means get rid of people. But the remaining people must cover the gap

Execs need to eat

Mtn, you are revolting. How much money is enough for you?

It seems like nowadays, many companies are creating value by eating themselves up instead of innovating & investing towards growth. Laying employees off in favour of automated services, or offshoring to cheaper labour markets seems to be how value is created. At some point, I imagine there won't be anymore to eat. Even worse since Vodacom and MTN already dominate the mobile telecoms market in South Africa. If I were an MTN employee, I wouldn't get too comfy.

Most intelligent thread I've read in a long time, good to see many of us here have got our heads screwed on right.

"South Africa remains a critical anchor "    Obviously don't realize at how many companies are looking to exit the country for neighboring countries. South Africa is the new Zimbabwe, and that isn't going to change.
