I want to access a directory on my pc

Did anyone notice what rigmarole you have to go through to access anything on your pc.
"my computer" now only shows my 2 cloud drives and nothing else,.
don't know how i would access my files without total commander.
**** windows, i`m done, it`s like trying to access your own pc through a **** browser like bing.+++

sorry operating system i`ve been using since childhood....... but may i please see my drives?
Huh?

The whole business world runs on Microsoft 365. Good luck switching to an alternative lol. Linux and Android users always cracks me up.
Agreed, had 3 interviews past week (diff companies) & all 3 are balls deep in MS. Power BI is name of the game, Tableau is "nice to have", Excel is a mainstay etc.

What a thoughtless response. Over 170 000 companies use MS SQL, only Oracle is bigger. Over 350 000 orgs use Power BI.

Tell us about these superior products.
tell us how awesome the ANC is given they have the majority vote ...

for data analysis, good lord MOST tools wipe the floor with PowerBI, in my most recent experience Looker is far better, as is Tableau
for RDBMS: MySQL, PostgreSQL etc

From folder sharing to ANC. What's next? Stay tuned…

OP is specifically talking about what is venturing more into the server side than anything else
Microsoft 365 can remain forever blissfully unaware of the fact that the data warehouse is not MS at all, plenty of "MS shops" run something else in the backend, mostly AWS

if someone proposes the majority vote is an indication of quality, then failures of majority vote serve as perfect examples of why that is flawed reasoning

or ... did you miss the part where OP outright stated majority vote = quality?

I've just setup a decent dashboard on a not so great dataset in Power BI with nothing more than direct JSON API feeds to the transactional data set. Aggregate data model configured with dimensions, measures and daily refresh. No middleware. Tableau would have needed a database in between.

Tell us about how YOU store PII in these systems?
Gartner ... LMFAO

Gartner magic quadrants were the things a 70 year old has been at the one consulting gig I worked told execs was legit ... over 15 years ago

You're smoking some really good crack https://www.microsoft.com/en-za/microsoft-fabric. Just face the facts, admit you're wrong and move on dear lord.

The amount of hoops I had to jump through to properly disable windows defender a while back was crazy. I understand having safeguards in place, but if I disable defender and even do some regedit to disable it and it still runs in the background preventing me from installing something...

Previous windows felt a lot more: "Sure - this is a bad idea but if you want to do it go ahead."
You can create an exclusion folder and install or run anything from that folder, won't trigger by defender. You need local Admin on the PC though, which if it's yours won't be a problem.
