Microsoft 365 can remain forever blissfully unaware of the fact that the data warehouse is not MS at all, plenty of "MS shops" run something else in the backend, mostly AWS

You can create an exclusion folder and install or run anything from that folder, won't trigger by defender. You need local Admin on the PC though, which if it's yours won't be a problem.The amount of hoops I had to jump through to properly disable windows defender a while back was crazy. I understand having safeguards in place, but if I disable defender and even do some regedit to disable it and it still runs in the background preventing me from installing something...

True, although many smaller companies use Slack especially in companies that do development.The whole business world runs on Microsoft 365. Good luck switching to an alternative lol. Linux and Android users always cracks me up.
