There is a big difference between the two.

1986 Economic & Trade Sanctions: The Commonwealth and the US Congress (Comprehensive Anti-Apartheid Act) banned bank loans, new investments, and the import of South African coal, steel, and agricultural products.

Right now there is no restrictions on SA and only tariffs which are self inflicted by the anc.

So there's that.

The sanctions during apartheid, were they not self inflicted by the National Party?
