Best IPv6 6in4 / SIT Tunnel Provider for Cape Town, South Africa?

Hi everyone,


I'm based in Cape Town, South Africa and currently use a Hurricane Electric 6in4 (SIT) tunnel on my router because my Vuma line (Vuma AE) does not provide native IPv6 on my connection.


The setup works well, but I'm curious whether there are any better options available, particularly with a local presence in South Africa.

• Routed IPv6 prefix for my LAN (not just a single IPv6 address)
• Stable service suitable for a home network
• Good latency from Cape Town
• Support for static IPv4 endpoints
• Preferably free or reasonably priced

Currently using Hurricane Electric and have no major issues, but I was wondering if there are any alternatives that provide:

• Better latency
• South African endpoints

If you're in South Africa, especially Cape Town, I'd be interested to hear what you're using and what your experience has been.

Question, why do you want v6? From what ive been seeing v6 has been causing a lot of problems for a lot of users

Mostly because I enjoy learning and experimenting with networking, but there are practical benefits too.

IPv6 removes the need for NAT, gives every device a globally routable address, and is where the Internet is ultimately heading.

In my case, Vuma AE doesn't currently provide native IPv6, so I'm using a Hurricane Electric tunnel to learn how it works and to gain IPv6 connectivity. So far it's been stable and performing well.

Out of interest, what specific issues have you seen with IPv6? In many cases the problems are related to ISP implementations, firewall configuration, or broken transition mechanisms rather than IPv6 itself.
