Eskom explains that rotational blackouts in Johannesburg are still on the cards

Eskom has announced that the Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality has once again failed to meet its electricity payment obligations and faces rolling blackouts.

It encouraged members of the public and affected stakeholders to make use of a window to make representations to Eskom under the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act (PAJA).

Eskom should just take it over and get it done with. City Power is faaark up.

It's going to take 20+ years to fix what the ANC destroyed in Joburg, plus cost us rate payers a fortune to fix it.

Plus the DA will have to fight continously in council to do anything they want to do. The ANC will never support anything, regardless of how good it is.

dont think Helen can fix this mess of the ANC making, not unless the ANC were to vanish overnight.

Sure, but let's start by hoping she manages to set up a new policy of payment. How hard is that, just fire the thieves involved.

Agreed. Surely it can't be that hard to follow the money and figured out who forgot to pay.

I'm guessing it is more likely that they don't have the money and stuck their heads in the sand and hope it goes away. Or just forgot?

Johannesburg is still largely a paper based system. They have the digital systems in place but don't use them and prefer paper as it facilitates corruption. Helen's first priority is changing that.
