New polling shows that the DA leads the ANC in Gauteng

Polls mean nothing, as it depends on where and who you poll
 
More about who does the polling - some are really good at getting a proper slice of reality captured simply. But yep, their results still aren't written in stone.
 
Can only hope the DA focus on exposing each ANC Jo'burg campaign lie quickly and thoroughly.
 
didnt they try running JHB under the DA before, didnt it all collapse as everybody said it would?
at this point is it just trying to mix oil and water and getting nowhere.

Yep, but I think it was more about the individuals involved, can't quite recall... thing is, look at what's being done in your CT - despite some serious issues anyway, a far better option.

They'll do what they did in 2021, join all small parties and keep pushing for votes of no confidence.

Tannie Helen was here yesterday meeting with our Bosses, she and whomever accompanied her has quite the security detail.

Anyway, since they were in charge where I live I've seen the road get resurfaced properly, the police station renovated, the trash collected promptly, every weekend they have people coming through picking up trash, a new water reservoir installed, etc etc.

When it was the ANC, I saw literally nothing get done.

Make no mistake the area still isn't great and I'm sure they did a lot more than the things I noticed, but the contras is breathtaking.

yeah CPT isnt the land of milk and honey as everybody believes it is, I think they trying to convince people that JHB can be CPT is a fantasy, I think the endemic corruption is too deep now to ever be stopped,

for there to actually be a decent chance I think some examples need to be made at the top all the 200 mayors JHB had
a few were corrupt, take them to jail, people doing fraud and corruption, haul them to the slammer,
and keep going until you clear out the rot from the top.

then start clamping down on lawnessness, taxis doing crazy stuff, impound and crush them, no mercy,
people putting up adverts wherever they like, heavy fines and sentences,

if what worked in Manhattan with Guliani with the 3 strikes laws was implemented JHB would genuinely turn around
Jail cells would be bursting at the seams, but hopefully with all the money they spend on fines would pay for some of it.
